Lombardi’s Seafood enters into the next phase, Mike Lombardi will be at the helm with his sister Denise beside him. Both Mike and Denise have spent a significant amount of time in the ‘family business’, so they bring a wealth of real world experience to the table. In July of 2013, Tony and Terri’s son, Michael Lombardi, came on board to add both his level of management expertise and his knowledge of seafood to the team. Tony and his wife, Terri Lombardi, and daughter, Denise Lombardi Smith, took on the challenge to reinforce the amazing reputation that Lombardi’s Seafood had in the community while enhancing quality and service to its new and existing loyal customers. In 2006, the Lombardi family decided to divest the large business.ĭuring the divestiture, Tony decided to purchase the Winter Park retail store. state of the art processing and distribution facility in south Orlando. At one point, Lombardi’s had ventured into running retail stores, an oyster plant in Apalachicola, a consolidation warehouse in Miami, and a 69,000 sq. would go onto help the family grow the business into a full service seafood supplier. Tony and Angie’s son, Tony Lombardi Jr., grew up helping his dad in the early days of the business. In 2015, Lombardi’s moved from its original location and built an upscale market and cafe at 1888 W Fairbanks Ave. They began their new business at the intersection of Orange Avenue and Orlando Avenue where it was located for over 50 years. and his wife, Angie Lombardi, decided to leave the Tampa area and start their own business in Winter Park, FL, a suburb of Orlando. In 1961, as the Orlando market started to grow, Tony Lombardi, Sr. A few years later, he and his brothers opened a wholesale/retail seafood market in Tampa. After learning the shrimp business, he then landed a job with a local seafood wholesaler. started his seafood career as a deckhand on the Tampa shrimping fleet in the early 1950s. It has now been proudly serving San Diegans for over thirty years.Lombardi’s Seafood of Winter Park is a third generation retail and wholesale premium seafood company. The full service fish market remains unsurpassed for its quality and selection. Since then the menu has increased to an array of char-grilled and sauteed seafood items. Seven years later Shannon opened his own store on Pearl Street in La Jolla. In March of 1978, sixteen year old Sean Shannon traded his paper route in for his first real job, "El Pescador-clean-up-kid". By the end of 1976 Norris had a complete seafood deli to accompany his thriving fresh fish market. They wanted fresh fish to eat on the spot! Soon after Norris served El Pescador's first prepared food: a shrimp cocktail and lemonade for $1.00. Within twelve months retail fish sales were booming, but the public demanded more than just raw seafood. He recruited sixteen year old Jim Mahoney and together they hand crafted a display case out of wood and fiberglass and began selling fresh seafood to the once small town of Del Mar. A young ambitious nineteen year old surfer named Jeff Norris bought some refrigeration equipment for less than a thousand dollars. El Pescador first opened its doors in Del Mar in July of 1974.
